X-Files is a complete rip-off of "The Invaders" series from the 60's. Don't
believe me? Go watch a few clips from some episodes. They're available
on-line in 5-minute mini-thrills at:

<http://www.the-invaders.com/videoepisodes.php>

I especially recommend this one: Episode 1.16, "Wall Of Crystal". It's got
such classic actors as:
Ed Asner
Peggy Lipton (just a cameo, really)
Burgess Meredith

After watching clips of the whole first season it becomes quite obvious where
Chris Carter got his format and ideas from.

Fox Mulder = David Vincent, suit, tie, and all.

Not that CC isn't creative in his own right, but judge for yourself just how
unique X-Files really is. It's just an updated and expanded Invaders...

"Wall Of Crystal" episode clips are here:

And don't forget to watch the prologue

and epilogue

<http://www.the-invaders.com/video/epilog131106.wmv>

They're especially X-Files-ish...

I like this prologue even better:

Can't you just hear the X-Files tune...?

Fox Mulder = David Vincent, suit, tie, and all.
Nuh-uh. Mulder = Agent Cooper from 'Twin Peaks', and Scully = Agent
Starling from 'Silence of the Lambs'.

Fortunately, the creativity of art is not judged by whether it has
inspirational precedents, since *everything* does. If it didn't, it
wouldn't even be comprehensible.

Have to agree with Sean here.

I wonder how many English folk were muttering, "Ah, Romeo and Juliet's
a rip-off," in ElizabethanEnglish, of course).

Can't we just enjoy something instead of analyzing? There's so much
other stuff in this world to TACKLE, something such as The X-Files is
either to be enjoyed or looked away from as your choice.

I'm trying to improve my kids' life and help others in my Real Life,
but I admit to liking The X-Files. That is a CHOICE, not an obsession
or hard issue! I like Eric Carmen, too, for Pete's sake.

And all this time I thought X-files was a rip-off of The Nightstalker
series. Oh well either way it's still rocks!

I vaguely remember bits of The Invaders, particularly the voice of the
actor who narrated the opening theme.

Who cares? Bozos should try to enjoy life instead of being annoyed and
unhappy and trying to annoy others as well. :-)
